1. Maunsell Sea Forts, UK
These small steel stages were built along the east coast of England during WWII. They were used as lookout towers that were armed but were left in the 1950s. Some were later used as the base for pirate radio stations. The Bates family declared one fort off the coast of Suffolk the Principality of Sealand in 1967. It’s not officially recognized as a sovereign state, if you’d like but you can purchase a Count, Baron or Lord title from there.
